Dear everyone,
Japan is now in the midst of the Golden Week, about one week holidays.
The editorial office of 5: Designing Media Ecology is, however, working on the third issue which will be published in the second week of June.
This time, Osamu Sakura, one of editorial board, has been conducting the special feature, “Everyday Life and Science after the 3/11 Disaster”.
There will be various essays and pictures of resilient practices and thoughts that would be able to go beyond the gap between everyday life and science.

Also, three Reviews have been just posted on the Review corner.
“Times of Crisis and Press Freedom” by Setsuko Kamiya, “Kaiju as the Commons” by Sota Takahashi, and “Connecting TV in Singapore” by Seongsoo Baeg.
They will be published also on the third issue.

When Shin Mizukoshi, the editor in chief had a trip to Singapore in last February, he found a unique logo mark of bar 5 (FIV五) near to the Singapore river.
They said it as Singapore’s first Tachinomi Izakaya.
Well, there is no relationship between this Izakaya bar and our magaine…(^0^)

『５』編集室は現在、6月第2週出版予定の本誌第3号の編集作業に追われています。
今回は、編集委員の一人、佐倉統が中心となり、「3/11後の科学と生活」という特集を組んでいます。科学と生活の断絶を乗り超えるしたたかな実践と柔らかな思考を、内外の方々のエッセイや写真でまとめています。
乞うご期待!
また『５』ブログに、3本のReviewを掲載しました。
神谷説子「非常事態とプレスの自由」、高橋聡太「怪獣たちのコモンズ」、ペク・ソンス「シンガポールでテレビをつなぐ」。
いずれも3号にも掲載予定です。
考えてみると、連載コラムというのが一番雑誌らしいコーナーではないでしょうか。

2月に本誌編集長の水越伸がシンガポールを訪れた際、『５（FIV五）』というバーのユニークなロゴマークを見かけました。
シンガポール初の立ち飲み居酒屋だとか。
なお、このお店と雑誌『５：Designing Media Ecology』はなんの関係もありません（笑）。
