On the fourth year of 5: Designing Media Ecology,
we will hold a symposium: What’s Your Next Move?
Our world is in deep crisis.
bombards us with snapshots of rising populism, widening economic divides, the
ever-present threat of terrorism and so on.
Academic study and journalism provide us with endless explanations and causal
relationships. The challenge is to deal with the critical situations we find
ourselves mired in, and this is no easy task.
Now is the time for 5: Designing Media
Ecology to step up this challenge. What we need is the practical application of
specialist knowledge and a design-oriented mindset.
In this symposium, the editorial office of
5 will hold a three-person talk by Shin Mizukoshi, Yoshitaka Mōri, and Osamu Sakura
to discuss about their “Next Moves”, hold a discussion workshop, 5 Bazaar, and
